The company was originally incorporated at Edmonton, Alberta in 1984 as the
National Technologic Electronics Corporation (NTEC) by North Saanich
resident, Dale P. Leier, with two operating divisions:"
- EXECUTRONIX as an importer and distributor of executive productivity and entertainment products with Bob Labelle providing repair and service support.
- COMPUTATION as a retailer selling deeply discounted Apple and IBM compatible computer products with Art Nesdoly providing sales and customer support.
Subsequently it became apparent that the name (NTEC) did not adequately reflect the depth and breadth of the company’s interests in market research, business planning, financing and opportunity development. Therfore in 1986 the company changed it’s name to DPL CONSULTING LTD. Over the intervening years between the renaming and the waning years of the last millenium, DPL was engaged in a wide range of business activities before focusing once again on technology management services.
Since 1998 DPL has been involved in working with numerous technology startups to move from concept to market success in almost every area of technology:
- Electroluminescent Displays - XS Energy
- Smart Cards - Prolific Technologies
- E-Commerce - Theilhard Technologies
- Wireless MPEG-4 - AVT Technologies
- Digital Video Recording - Mobea Technologies
- Mobile e-Documents - Truckware Solutions
- e-Government - ViaGov Solutions
Transitioning to the future, now, we see merit in combing some of the great technologies being developed by outside firms with the great opportunities we've identified though our business intelligence gathering process. While moving forward the objective remains, as always, to generate above average returns with the minimum amount of resources. The difference, however, is through selective partnering we will experience much greater upside potential while simulataneously reducing our exposure to downside risk.
Now things start to get interesting!
